June 19th

Dear Hubbie,

First off, let me just say that I’m going to laugh if I ever look back and read this particular letter written to you while we are living in the “middle of nowhere.” Now for the letter…

Please tell me that we will always live close to a large city (like within a half hour/45-mintue drive from our house). No, I am not talking a city where it has a large population like Peoria, IL or El Paso, TX, but a “big city.” Like one that if we were to explain to someone out-of-state they would know where it was. This means Chicago, Kansas City, St. Louis, New York, Cleveland, Orlando, Denver… you get the idea.

I don’t really want to live in some small dinky little town in the U.S. that no one has ever heard of. A part of me thrives on “city life,” and honestly, I don’t think I could never be found near farmland in the Midwest in a small town of population 270.

Let me put it this way: there better be a national sports team nearby (this means either a football or baseball team, preferably the latter). No, I am not suddenly a big sports person. But a well-known sports team is a good indication of a large town with “stuff to do” and large skylines and “excitement.” Maybe while writing this, I am just at the point in my life where I still need that, or maybe I will always be a suburb-right-outside-of-a-big-city girl at heart. Zoo or Art Museum anyone?

Love, Me

P.S. Please note that I may change my mind from “big city” in order settle near somewhere with water and/or lighthouses nearby as well.
