Dear Copper,

Today was our first Valentine's together... You're watching my type this, so I'll just leave it at "I love you" until later...

Today we spent time together at Mardi Gras downtown before having dinner at Brewhouse. Our plans got a bit messed up, and we ended up driving up north toward the airport to stay the night. It wasn't exactly how either of us had planned it, but it was a nice reminder that life may not always turn out the way you would like. That being said, it's also how you deal with the difficult situations together as a team that help to strengthen your relationship. Our relationship and marriage may not always go the way we want it to, but I do know that we will always manage to work through any obstacle thrown our way.

When all is said and done, I had a wonderful day with you and am so lucky you chose me to be your valentine. Happy 1st Valentine's Day, honey!
