Never again do I hope that we experience this much chaos all at once in our relationship. It's rough. That being said, I know this is going to make us stronger. It's like an arrow being pulled backward... It's tight with a lot of stress forced upon it, but must first undergo such a state before being catapulted into something great.

Our day started out a little rough at our counseling session, but started to feel a little better tonight when we (read: you, my dad, and your dad) were moving furniture. Sometimes, all it takes is just a good hug and the reassurance that "we will be alright" to know that love will get us through.

You are in the other room prepping our dining/formal room for paint tomorrow while I am in the living room working on my neuro lab (well, currently writing you this letter)... You're listening to movie music (Hunger Games, I think) and I just can't help but feel at peace knowing that this will soon be home. Leaving work, sitting down for dinner together, and getting to see you every night before bed. I can't wait to marry you :)

Dear Copper,

We're both struggling with "cold feet" right now. It's not that we don't love each other, it's just that the stress of buying a house and getting married is starting to take its toll on our emotional limits. Despite any hesitations or feelings of stress we may have, at the end of the day, we know that each are going to do whatever it takes to make this relationship and marriage work. And if struggling over this speed bump is what it takes to make us stronger, then full speed ahead!

Dear Copper,

WE ARE OFFICIALLY HOMEOWNERS!!! As of 10 am this morning after signing our final paperwork and being handed over the keys to the house, we finally have our own place to call home! On our way to get the cashiers check, we passed a homeless man on the street collecting change by the stoplight. You waved him over, got out your wallet and passed him a few dollars from inside. He smiled in return and thanked you for the help. In your words, with us on our way to get a house, it was good karma to pay it forward. This is why I absolutely love you and can't wait to not only live with you, but also be your wife.

Also, we both apparently have really good taste in couches and beds, since we seemed to agree on almost every piece of furniture in the stores we saw. Despite feeling stressed or overwhelmed while shopping, it was fun getting to lay on all the different mattresses and gawk at all of the gaudy furnishings together that we saw in the stores (wooden horse head, anyone?). It made me really feel like an old (well, soon-to-be) married couple.

Dear Copper,

We had our Precana conference today where we went over our personal inventory responses and watched marriage/relationship videos. Possible strengths in our relationship were communication, family & friends, relationship roles, sexual expectations, and spiritual growth while growth areas were conflict resolution, financial management, leisure activities, and partner style & habits. That being said, we at least both agreed on our expectation of marriage to be difficult and have challenges. 

Marriage isn't always going to be easy. At the same time, our realistic view on marriage and knowing the challenges we face while trying to make positive changes will help to strengthen our relationship as a couple in the long run. Can't wait to see over the years how our areas of growth all begin to change into areas of strength. Together as the "Leem Team," we will be able to do anything :)

Dear Copper,

Tonight was our final walk through of our home. Man, was it surreal to know that in less than 48 hours that will be ours. Driving straight there after work today, it made me feel like I was just driving home to you on a typical weeknight. It was an awesome feeling to see the empty rooms and for the first time, it started to feel like ours.

It was also my Dad's birthday, and you agreed to give up your Saturday night watching the Blues game with your friends to go out to dinner with my family and watch the KU game after. You got my dad a joke book, and you could not have thought of a more thoughtful gift. After watching the game and opening gifts, it was just the two of us downstairs on the couch. I started to fall asleep sideways on your chest, and you pulled over a nearby pillow to help make me more comfortable.

I just love you and your thoughtful nature so much and I am beyond blessed to be your wife. Looking forward to not only living with you and going through the journey of being homeowners, but also to a lifetime of love together :)

I had my wedding makeup trial tonight and then we had a special dinner planned at The Melting Pot after. My trial did not quite go as well as I would have liked, and before I could really even say anything, you made me feel better by saying that you liked it more when I did my own makeup than the professional. We then got to the restaurant, and I dropped my glove by the car before crossing the street. You made sure to run back across to get it for me before we went inside. Then at our table, the waiter brought us a rose you requested when you made our reservation. While at dinner/on the ride home, we talked about the Myers-Briggs personality types. You said you were going to take the test and I took a guess at what I thought you might be... Turns out you are in fact the two possible personality types that are most compatible with my two most likely personality types. 

So not only do I know you're the one because you compliment me, tell me I'm  beautiful, go out of your way to help me, and give me flowers, but also because science (well, psychology at least) says so.
