Today we woke up this morning at our hotel and just took it easy before another blunch at IHOP, a day trip to the Zoo (we heard a lion roar), Christmas with my Dad's side of the family, and How I Met Your Mother (read: falling asleep in each other's arms) back at your house. It was a great day, and there's no one else I would have rather spent it with than you. Love you so much!

Dear Copper,

I really do appreciate all those times I want to do something and you compromise to do the same thing. Tonight you felt pretty tired, but we ended up going with Z to a friends' house to play Balderdash. When it was my turn, slipped you the note that said "I love you" written at the bottom... We then came back to my house after and when you emptied your pockets, I noticed you had kept the note. It just made me smile :)

Dear Copper,

We spent our first Christmas together today. I just felt so very blessed the whole day to be welcomed into your family and that you chose me to be the one you spend your holidays with. It means more to me than you will ever know and I look forward to all the Christmases we'll share together in the years to come. This was the first year I didn't ask Santa to bring me anything, because in May I finally got everything I wanted last December. Spending Christmas together with you was far better than any gift under a tree. Because baby, all I ever wanted, want now, or will want forever for Christmas, is to be with you.

You've officially experienced every Christmas Eve tradition I remember as a kid... going to the kids' service at Concorida, eating Hunan Peking/gooey butter cookies, and watching "Merry Christmas, Mr. Bean" before bed. Tonight, we also opened an ornament from my mom that said "Our First Christmas." I know all my childhood Christmas traditions will change over the years, but I hope the love I have for you on this Christmas, our first together, never will. Merry Christmas Eve, Copper!

Writing this one the next day since we were out and about in Columbia last night. We went to Addison's for dinner, to the Holiday Inn where Dan works for a drink, Harpo's, and then On the Rocks... Can't believe it was only six months ago that I sat in my car after our first dinner at Addison's/drinks at On the Rocks night when I realized how much I was beginning to love you... It seems like it's been so much longer!

Ah, my childhood assumed wedding day... 12/13/14. For years on this day, I would sit and daydream about what my future husband would be like, how he would look, and how we would meet. And for the first time on a December 13th, I finally have the answers to those questions. And I'm glad we didn't meet earlier than we did, not only because the timing was right, but also because I would've never really have wanted to wear a wedding dress in December... Too cold! ;)
