Dear Copper,

After a morning of sleeping in and busy day at Six Flags (we found another dime), we ended up at that small park behind the church. Sitting in that gazebo today was one of my favorite moments with you so far (and minus a few mosquitoes), the moment couldn't have been more perfect. Gorgeous summer weather (70 degrees with a breeze), the sounds of a rushing fountain, beautiful flowers, and most importantly, laying there in your arms completely relaxed all made for a wonderfully happy place to be. I loved that moment together and it's an image and feeling I want to remember for the rest of my life.

Home is where the heart is, and I love you.

Tonight, I finally decided upon a nickname for you. You've been calling me Fox all along as it was your "synchronicity" symbol of sorts, but until tonight, I wasn't quite sure what I would call you. Then all of a sudden it hit me... Per the text I sent you:

"So in the movie the Fox and the Hound, there were two characters... Tod, the fox, and Copper, the hound. If I'm your fox, you're my hound... Your synchronicity symbol was a fox, but ironically enough mine was a penny... So clearly you're my Copper."

Forget "Hubbie" (which has been spelled wrong this whole time anyways), tomorrow I start your letters with "Dear Copper." I know who these letters are being addressed to now, so I may as well remove the broad/ambiguous title that I've been using up until this point and replace it with one more specific to you (although a nickname still leaves a healthy dose of mystery, don't you think?)...

I'm a bit late writing this note, but last night we were a bit busy...

Yesterday morning, we got into our first... tiff (argument doesn't seem appropriate). Although we were both a bit put off by our phone conversation, we eventually came to an agreement/compromise of sorts, and I decided to still drive to Como to see you. It was a long drive on little sleep, but I made myself come into town anyways so we could work through things in person. I was glad I did, the minute I saw you I felt so much better.

We ended up picking up Trops and going to Justin and Megan's for a BBQ. It was good getting to be around another couple and getting to meet some of your friends closer out by you.

Yesterday was just a reminder that relationships aren't always wine and roses, but rather take commitment, compromise, and communication. If we promise to have those throughout our marriage together, I know things will always work out alright.

I had such a great time with you today at church, your parents' house, and then Six Flags. Thanks for finally helping me fulfill my dream of kissing a guy at the top of a Ferris Wheel. I was glad I not only got to check that off my bucket list, but that it was a memory I was able to share with you.

Thankfully we didn't get kicked out of the park for kissing... On either that ride or the Scooby Doo one ;)

You're laying in my bed right now, so I'll have to finish my note from today a little later... But you're adorable, you know that?

My parents were out of town this weekend, and we're still doing long-distance (it may be safe enough for me to visit you soon)... Anyways, you sent me this text saying you were going to the country with your friends and would be back Sunday (after I turned down going with you). I was a bit upset you left, but figured you would have a good time and that I could see you later. I got home to find your car gone, the dishes unloaded from the dishwasher, and a note on the kitchen table with keys saying you went out the garage. I kept hearing a dripping sound thinking you left the shower going (I later found out this was you trying to light matches for a candle), but went to the garage to lock the door first, only to find it was already locked. At the same time I realized there was no way you could have left, I came back in the house to find you right in front of me waiting for a hug, saying that you never left. You led me down the hall, only to show me that you had fixed all the broken things in my bathroom and that you had bought my favorite flowers (I didn't notice the champagne until later). What an awesome boyfriend (read: future husband) I have...
