We spent our first Christmas together today. I just felt so very blessed the whole day to be welcomed into your family and that you chose me to be the one you spend your holidays with. It means more to me than you will ever know and I look forward to all the Christmases we'll share together in the years to come. This was the first year I didn't ask Santa to bring me anything, because in May I finally got everything I wanted last December. After a morning of sleeping in and busy day at Six Flags (we found another dime), we ended up at that small park behind the church. Sitting in that gazebo today was one of my favorite moments with you so far (and minus a few mosquitoes), the moment couldn't have been more perfect. Gorgeous summer weather (70 degrees with a breeze), the sounds of a rushing fountain, beautiful flowers, and most importantly, laying there in your arms completely relaxed all made for a wonderfully happy place to be. I loved that moment together and it's an image and feeling I want to remember for the rest of my life.

Yesterday morning, we got into our first... tiff (argument doesn't seem appropriate). Although we were both a bit put off by our phone conversation, we eventually came to an agreement/compromise of sorts, and I decided to still drive to Como to see you. It was a long drive on little sleep, but I made myself come into town anyways so we could work through things in person. I was glad I did, the minute I saw you I felt so much better.

We ended up picking up Trops and going to Justin and Megan's for a BBQ. It was good getting to be around another couple and getting to meet some of your friends closer out by you.

Yesterday was just a reminder that relationships aren't always wine and roses, but rather take commitment, compromise, and communication. If we promise to have those throughout our marriage together, I know things will always work out alright.

I got home to find your car gone, the dishes unloaded from the dishwasher, and a note on the kitchen table with keys saying you went out the garage. I kept hearing a dripping sound thinking you left the shower going (I later found out this was you trying to light matches for a candle), but went to the garage to lock the door first, only to find it was already locked. At the same time I realized there was no way you could have left, I came back in the house to find you right in front of me waiting for a hug, saying that you never left. You led me down the hall, only to show me that you had fixed all the broken things in my bathroom and that you had bought my favorite flowers (I didn't notice the champagne until later). What an awesome boyfriend (read: future husband) I have...

Last night made me realize how lucky we are to have people supporting us as a couple. Yes, going to church with both our families and sitting in the middle of them felt a bit awkward at first, but it showed how happy/proud our parents are that we're dating (that being said, glad we decided to go out on our own after instead of joining them for dinner, that step will come in time). This realization was then further reinforced when we met up with both of our sets of friends in Soulard/Ballpark Village.
