September 30th

Dear Hubbie,

There was just something about you that stood out to me from the very start. I don't know how to explain it, but I just knew that there was something special from the first time I saw you. You gave me those butterflies in my stomach and my tongue got all tied whenever I tried to talk to you. You were that great feeling that made me more nervous than I have ever been in my entire life, but in the best way possible. I can't even begin to picture my life with anyone but you.

September 28th

Dear Hubbie,

Sometimes I will say stupid things, or make comments that I will later regret. As much as I will do my best to not let this happen, a few may slip out. Please forgive me in advance, and I will do the same for you.

September 27th

Dear Hubbie,

If at all possible, we should try and meet each other for lunch every now and then. It doesn't have to be a long process, just a short lunch date to see you in the middle of our stressful day.

September 26th

Dear Hubbie,

I can't wait to find out what restaurants and parks are going to be "our place." Who knows? It might be the Chinese restaurant 10 minutes away or that secret park that we found one day when we were just on a drive. Wherever it may be, I'm excited to find out. Maybe we could take a trip there today?

September 25th

Dear Hubbie,

Our kids WILL do stupid things and make bad decisions (even "good" kids do once or twice). Sometimes they may need to be punished, but other times we should just leave them on their own to understand the mistake(s) they have made. By the time they are in high school, they will still be under our roof, but need to be given the chance to start learning on their own. By college, they should be old enough to make decisions for themselves. By laying a steady ground foundation while they are young, we should trust the fact that they will be have a good head on their feet and be able to make decent decisions later in life. In the event they do make a small mistake, it will no longer be a result of bad parenting, but rather serve as a learning process.

Dear Hubbie,

I am sorry for any inexcusable behavior that may happen after one too many glasses of wine... please know that I mean well.

Dear Hubbie,

If we don't own our own treadmill, we should get a gym membership nearby. Promise to be my workout partner?

Dear Hubbie,

When you go out of town, please remember to always give me a call whenever you get a chance. I miss you and want to talk to you, even if it is 3 a.m.

September 21st

Dear Hubbie,

We should try and save our money to go out of the country on a romantic getaway sometime (even Hawaii would be nice). Or... we could just hope our kids will pay for a nice trip when we get older for our anniversary. By then, we might even be retired and have all the time in the world for our all-expenses paid vacation. Wouldn't that be even nicer?

"You're like Campbell's soup.... mmm, good!"

Sorry, couldn't resist.

September 19th

Dear Hubbie,

Just so you know, I love the way you smell. Yeah, that might sound a little strange, but there is just something calming about knowing you are close by. Even when you're gone, I like the way that your clothes still have the scent of you and your cologne or body wash on them. It's almost like you're still right there with me, and that makes me feel so much better.

Dear Hubbie,

When our kids dress up for Halloween, we should get their outfits in advance, not the day before they need to be dressed up. Otherwise all the good costumes will be gone.

Dear Hubbie,

Let's go get ice cream tonight. Unless it's freezing cold. Then we should get hot chocolate or something instead.

Dear Hubbie,

There will be times when we will have to tell our children 'no.' If they ask to spend the night at a friends house and one of us says 'no,' the other parent should as well...

September 14th

Dear Hubbie,

I have strange talents with my face all of which you probably know by now. I can do the "wave" with my eyebrows, make a triangle when I squint my nose, wiggle my left ear, and finally make a 3-leaf clover with and flip my tongue over. I have no idea why I did not join the circus.

Know that I love each and every one of your facial expressions as well, like those when I make a good dinner (rare, I know), when I say something funny (also rare) and when I tell you I love you (not rare). Each of them make you who you are, and I wouldn't change any of them.

September 13th

Dear Hubbie,

I love that you are my built in best friend and everything all in one. I love that you are not only my husband, but also my partner in crime, teacher, doctor when I am sick, coach when I am down, mr. fix-it, and best friend as well. Without you, I would have to place like 27 different ads in the newspaper just to get anything done. Thanks for being everything I need you to be, and know that you have no idea how much you mean to me.

September 11th

Dear Hubbie,

Seeing as it's September 11th, I could write you a letter dealing with our country and general patriotism, but I'm not going to. Rather, I am going to thank you for helping end my fear of being alone. You have no idea how many times I thought I was doomed to be the crazy old lady with 8 cats who tells kids to stay off her lawn. Or the mad scientist in the lab late at night looking at her test tubes because she had no family to come home to. It may sound silly, but thanks for watching out for me and making sure that this never happened to me.

Dear Hubbie,

We should do movie night every now and then, where we just sit at home, pop popcorn and cuddle up on the couch. But no horror movies.

Dear Hubbie,

What we have posted on our refrigerator is a huge indicator of personality. Up on ours should be fun magnets, family photos, and pictures that our children have drawn at school. We should also post a shopping list or notepad and pen... "Honey, I went to the store to get more Cheeze-its."

Just because we are married does not mean you have to stop opening my door and doing nice things for me. I will still appreciate all of these little things, and believe me when I say they go a long way and mean a lot.

Dear Hubbie,

As much as I want to say that I will grow old with you, that doesn't entirely mean that I will always expect to grow up with you. If we want to just sit down one day and play with our kids Play Doh, we should. Feel like building a fort? Let's do it. Who's to say we can't be on a professional conference call or working on our laptops under sheets and chairs?

Dear Hubbie,

I don't know if you've ever seen the movie When Harry Met Sally, but please tell me that "I'll never have to be out there again." I can't even begin to picture my life without you in it. Promise me you'll never leave me and make me go "back out there." Okay?

Dear Hubbie,

There were guys before you that I only thought were my soulmate, but after meeting you, I KNEW you were my soulmate. You are the one I get to spend the rest of my life with, sharing every moment that goes by. You are that person I feel incomplete without, and I don't know what I would do without you. Only you get the title of my "soulmate."

Dear Hubbie,

Please tell me you don't feel you are going to be abducted by aliens at any given point. If you do, please do not share that with me. Thanks. On the other hand, when our children are little and think there is an alligator in their closet, remember to take it as a valid concern.

September 1st

Dear Hubbie,

Please remember to tell me when there are important things going on in your life. It makes no sense to keep them a secret, unless you REALLY feel they will stress me out. Otherwise, not telling me will just cause me to worry more and cause my mind to think the worst. I will try and remember to do the same, unless you tell me otherwise.
